Terms of Service
1. About Snoopt
Snoopt is a competitive intelligence service that monitors publicly accessible competitor websites and uses AI to summarise changes. It is operated by Jan Lohmer, based in Spain. By creating an account and using the service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Snoopt.
- You must have a valid invitation code to register during the current early-access phase.
- You must verify your email address before you can log in.
- You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.
3. What Snoopt Does
Snoopt crawls publicly accessible web pages that you specify, detects changes using text comparison, and uses large language model AI to generate plain-language summaries and strategic assessments. Crawls run automatically once per day. You may also trigger manual crawls via the dashboard.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Snoopt to:
- Monitor websites for which you do not have permission or that are protected by robots.txt in ways that prohibit automated access beyond what is permitted by applicable law
- Harvest personal data about individuals
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable law, including data protection regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Snoopt service or its AI outputs
- Use the service for any unlawful competitive practices, including those prohibited under EU or Spanish competition law
Snoopt monitors publicly available information that websites present to all visitors. It does not access password-protected areas, bypass CAPTCHAs, or attempt to circumvent technical protection measures.
5. Subscription and Payment
Snoopt offers a 14-day free trial on the Starter plan. A credit card is required to start the trial. After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription at the rates displayed on our pricing page.
Billing, payment processing, and subscription management will be handled through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis unless cancelled before the renewal date.
6. Your Data
The competitor pages, watchlist entries, and AI-generated insights in your account belong to you. Snoopt does not claim any ownership over the content you monitor or the outputs generated for your account.
Upon account deletion, your personal data and watchlist data will be removed from our systems within 30 days. Server logs are purged after 90 days.
7. Service Availability
Snoopt is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or take the service offline temporarily without prior notice, though we will endeavour to minimise disruption.
AI-generated insights are summaries of publicly available information. They do not constitute legal, financial, or business advice. You are responsible for decisions made based on Snoopt's outputs.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Snoopt and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
The Snoopt name, logo, software, and AI models are the intellectual property of Snoopt's operator. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the service without prior written permission.
10. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@snoopt.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or whose subscriptions are in arrears, with reasonable prior notice where possible.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
